#63: Luck, Privilege & the Stories We Tell Ourselves
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In this episode, I explore how luck and privilege quietly shape our lives — and more importantly, how they shape the way we see the world, ourselves, and other people.
I talk about how opportunity often looks like hard work in hindsight, and how a single moment of being “lucky” — meeting the right person, being in the right place, getting one chance — can completely alter the direction of someone’s life.
We unpack how lived experience informs belief systems: why people who’ve been lucky once tend to believe the world is abundant, and why those who haven’t may see it as harsh or limited — not because they’re wrong, but because their reality taught them that.
This episode isn’t about dismissing effort or accountability. It’s about holding nuance. Recognizing that luck and privilege exist, that they impact mindset, confidence, and risk-taking — and that sometimes, all it takes is one break to change what you believe is possible.
A conversation about compassion, awareness, and seeing life through a wider lens.
