#42: Healing the Anxious–Avoidant Dynamic: Consciousness, Accountability & Real Growth

Faezeh Episode 42

In this episode, I explore a perspective most people never consider: we can only share advice from the level of consciousness we’re currently at — and that’s one of the reasons therapy doesn’t always create real transformation.

I talk about how some of the deepest healing doesn’t come from analyzing ourselves in isolation, but from sitting with the person who has been impacted by our behavior. The person who has lived with our patterns, our triggers, our inconsistencies, and our unhealed wounds.

Because the truth is:

  • it’s often easier to analyze others than look honestly at ourselves
  • therapy can become a space where we share only our side of the story
  • healing isn’t just about understanding our “why,” but about recognizing our impact

I unpack the anxious–avoidant dynamic too — how both people co-create the pattern, and how each person’s behavior reinforces the other. When you step back and see your role in the dynamic, healing becomes less about blame and more about awareness.

This episode is about taking conscious responsibility — not to shame yourself, but to free yourself.
Healing truly begins when you stop focusing on who hurt you and start noticing how you show up.
